Colossians 2:6-7 says “So then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to walk in him, being rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.”

Paul is clear in his letter to the Colossian church that our lives are to be ROOTED in Christ and that we should be ESTABLISHED in our faith, just as we were taught… but if the Church isn’t teaching what it means to be rooted in Christ, how can you be established in your faith?

Enter ROOTED & ESTABLISHED, a mentorship designed to help you build your life on Jesus.

Who is this for? Anybody who wants to grow in their walk with Christ, from the brand new believer to those who have been following Christ for decades. If you choose to sign up as a student, you will be paired with a mentor who is more “seasoned” than you, and together you will walk through studies, topics, and circumstances that help you become rooted in Christ and establish your faith so that you can build your life upon Him.

If you are a believer, a disciple, who has wisdom, experience, and love to share, we would love to have you sign up to be a mentor. Together we can build generations of disciples who know how to make other disciples.

The women will be starting a new Bible study on Monday, November 2nd! This is open to all women, high school and older. We will meet in the youth room every Monday, 6:30-8:00 PM! You can order your book on Amazon or see Megan Morrison for other options or questions.

We are having a 5k fundraiser in order to begin to make improvements to Jericho Park that will benefit the entire community! Registration for the 5k includes the race, a t-shirt, a goodie bag, and taco-bar lunch. Cost is $50 until October 9th (price goes up to $60 and we can no longer guarantee a shirt). Runners and walkers welcome!

Not interested in walking or running? Register for the 0k! “Just Here for the Tacos 0k” is the opportunity to simply show up for the taco bar lunch. Same as with the 5k, all proceeds go toward improving Jericho Park. Registration for lunch is $15 and offers the option to purchase a special-edition 0k shirt for an additional $15. Merchandise will be available day-of, but the cost goes up to $20.

The Seniors of FCOGA have joined up and coined themselves JOY (Just Older Youth). And they’d love for YOU to join! Anyone 55+ is welcome each month. This month’s meeting will take place on October 24th at Don Pancho’s in Alliance. Please see Melody Ruble with any questions.
